NEXT COLLECTION...

AZTEC.AFRICAN.CROCHET.

I have been doing research and sketches on these three styles and I cant wait to make them! Fun!
I have no idea how I merged these concepts together but I find all the historical and design ideas for these styles so interesting.. maybe I should put up a brief history about each...dunno we will see.

Whilst researching I stumbled on this ole thing..

Remember this?

"The breakthrough was made by Sir Magnus Larchwood in south-west Africa. In 1923 he discovered a species called the moquette (a relation of the meerkat) that had checked fur in a variety of striking colours, notably orange, purple, blue and brown. A trade in the moquette was set up and Tubes were furbished with their hides. "

I dont know if I agree with this statement, firstly as there is no such thing as a Moquette animal. I personally believe it was inspired by the African cloth...do you think?

BUT
I'd better get cracking with my crochet stuff..zeke is doing it granny style

Zeke first show

So I had a show last week Sunday it was soo great!
I got to see my new designs come to life!
I was also grateful for the experience I had been given by some of the designers that were there.
The main collection I showcased at that event was the 'TRANSFORMERS'. I am currently sketching out a story board for my proposed photo shoot in the next couple of months I cant wait!
I have to get all the necessary people together which is going to take a while but patience is a virtuous thing.

My first collection: Flores
I was very excited when I completed my first design. It was a beautiful mistake!
Flores is a Spanish word meaning 'flower' and that's what these designs remind me of.
I have received messages about interviews and events, which has been really encouraging.

I am bursting full of ideas that I dont know where to begin!
I make one design it extends into something else.
I had some feedback saying,'Oh! its rather big isnt it!?'
..and well it is true they are rather loud pieces so what I have done is reduced them! simple :)
So now I have the mini version (on request)

so... these are the small ones

I am really enjoying using the black and white stripes but I think Its time to move on...

but guess what?

You know who I see wearing them...

Yes.Even the earrings in this photo are too beautiful!
